Cursed Child takes home 6 Tonys

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child Parts won six Tony Awards Sunday night, including best play.

Cursed Child, which opened at Broadway’s Lyric Theatre in in April, had been nominated for 10 Tonys. The show also recently won best play at the Drama League Awards, and received five Drama Desk Awards, including best director.

Cursed Child has now received honors on both sides of the Atlantic. The original West End production in London has received a total of 22 major theater awards, including a record-breaking nine Olivier Awards.
