John PicacioArizona’s science fiction and fantasy convention LepreCon 37 is just a month away, May 6-8 at the Tempe Mission Palms.

Guests of honor include artist John Picacio (artwork at left), authors Elizabeth Bear and Sarah Monette and Darrell K. Sweet, who is known for illustrating the covers of Robert Jordan’s Wheel of Time series. There will also be a “con within a con” devoted to Shadow Unit, “the best TV series never made,” as well as an art show, charity auction, book drive, gaming and an RPG design contest. You can get full programming details at the convention’s website.

In addition, LepreCon 37 chairman and occasional Nerdvana contributor Lee Whiteside will be at tonight’s Second Friday block party, dubbed “Sci-Fi Friday,” in downtown Mesa. Find his table and get the latest info on this signature Valley event!
