Zombie Extermination Division

Evermore Nevermore recently celebrated its first anniversary in downtown Mesa, right between Queen’s Pizzeria and History by George. To mark the occasion, the store printed up a special zombie-infested flier starring their Zombie Extermination Divison (Z.E.D.) that’s full of in-jokes and shout-outs to Valley institutions like the Derby Dames, New Times’ “Best of Phoenix” issue — and Nerdvana!

“For our 1st year anniversary we wanted to do something fun to commemorate the occasion and came up with the idea of trying to do a grindhouse style B-movie poster for our next shop flier,” owner Bob Leeper said. “We had a lot of fun doing it and we’re really excited about the way it came out.”

They’ve compiled a list of all the Easter eggs and a brief explanation of the lore behind each one. They’ve provided me with a copy, so you too can share in the secret fun. But first, check out the poster above and see how many you can find!

And if you’ve never been to Evermore Nevermore, don’t miss their raygun art show as part of downtown’s Second Friday event.
