The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, the first blockbuster adaptation of C.S. Lewis’ beloved children’s fantasy series, was a critical and box-office success when it debuted in 2005. It’s 2008 follow-up, Prince Caspian, was a more grown-up affair — and far less favorable received.
When the wind left the Walden Media franchise’s sails, distributor Disney jumped ship and that’s why the third installment, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader, has just now reached our shores as a 20th Century Fox release. And we’re lucky that it did, because now we finally get to see the original cast fulfill the journey they began when they first took us into the magical land of Narnia.
