It’s Christmas! Or it could be, with all the goodies Doctor Who fans got today.
First there’s the Doctor-centric trailer for Class, the new spinoff series focusing on Coal Hill School that has seen many visits from the TARDIS over the last 50+ Earth years.
Then, there’s a behind-the-scenes first look at the Doctor Who Christmas special. The first new episode since last holiday season’s “The Husbands of River Song” sees the Doctor in an adventure with a journalist (!) and superheroes in New York City!
Wolf Hall’s Chris Charity Wakefield plays the investigative reporter teaming up with Peter Capaldi’s Doctor along with caped crusader to defend Americans from an alien threat in “The Return of Doctor Mysterio.”
Orphan Black’s Justin Chatwin plays a mysterious character named Grant; the actor has taken up arms to defend the planet before, in Dragonball Evolution and the Tom Cruise version of War of the Worlds. Logan Hoffman, who appeared in the V remake, also appears. (That’s a lot of American alien-fighting experience!)
Comic actor Matt Lucas, who appeared in last year’s Christmas special, returns as the obsequious Nardole.
