As 5th season of Clone Wars ends, is Ahsoka’s fate sealed?

Five years of character development comes to a head Saturday morning, when Ahsoka Tano, Anakin Skywalker’s padawan apprentice, faces the consequences put into motion by those who have framed her for murder in “The Wrong Jedi,” the grand finale to the fifth season of Star Wars: The Clone Wars.

We also will see more more threads of the Galactic Empire come together as the Jedi continue their fall in the court of public opinion, and a future Grand Moff’s star rises in the Republic courts:

The shocking finale to Season 5 of Star Wars: The Clone Wars has arrived, with major revelations that will leave characters forever changed.  Ahsoka is wrongly accused for sedition and murder, and is to be prosecuted in the High Courts of the Galactic Republic by a zealous Admiral Tarkin. Seemingly abandoned, Ahsoka’s last hope lies in Anakin Skywalker, who hunts the Coruscant underworld for the real murderer in “The Wrong Jedi,” Saturday, March 2 at 9:30am ET/PT on Cartoon Network.

Clone Wars supervising director Dave Filoni personally took the helm of this episode, and composer Kevin Kiner has arranged an orchestral score fit for the big-screen Star Wars saga.

The franchise has waited a long time to feature a female lead as strong as Ahsoka. I along with many felt unsure when “Snips” was shoe-horned into the gap between Episodes II and III, but the stellar writing and Ashley Eckstein’s performance has never failed to impress — and sometimes astound — whatever other failings the series may have. One way or another, things will never be the same.
