Star Trek: The Next Generation’s iconic wall of fame restored to a place of honor

It’s not quite the Enterprise-D’s sweeping observation lounge, but I think it will do nicely. Former Star Trek: The Next Generation producer Ronald D. Moore has hauled the famous golden starship models from the show’s main conference room out of storage and remounted them, it seems, on one of the walls in his home:

Moore was of course quizzed about this by the Trekkies of Twitter, and some of the exchanges revealed that he saved the decorations from the trash heap after the observation lounge set was revamped for use as the Enterprise-A officers’ mess in Star Trek VI: The Undiscovered Country:

It also appears that mounting the custom-made curved pieces on his wall involved a little more effort than hanging a picture frame:

Moore was a script editor on TNG who worked his way up to co-producer and eventual producer, after reportedly taking a chance on submitting a script while touring the set one day. He’s currently executive producer of Outlander, the adaptation of Diana Gabaldon’s novels on Starz, and Syfy’s Helix. He’s also well known as the mastermind behind the 21st century reboot of Battlestar Galactica and its short-lived sequel, Caprica.

Now I wonder whatever happened to that fish in Captain Picard’s ready room?
