Arizona Pop Culture MuseumThe Arizona Pop Culture Experience announced Monday on its Facebook page that financial difficulties are likely to drive it from Desert Ridge Marketplace and shut its museum portion, reopening as a store-only operation across from the food court at Paradise Valley Mall.

The nonprofit said that barring a new source of funds for 2014, the museum would close for good on Oct. 27.

It opened as the Arizona Pop Culture Museum at CityNorth in east Phoenix back in February 2010 before moving to Desert Ridge a year later along with a shopping experience. It has been the site of many a costumed fan gathering.

The organization is seeking backers who can help them meet an offer to keep the space necessary for the museum operation. For more information, contact
