Star Wars: Episode VII delay official, along with open casting and theme park news

Star Wars, as always, is bursting with Star Wars news.

First and foremost, Lucasfilm has set a release date for Episode VII of Dec. 18, 2015 — six months after the anticipated May release, and a clear break with franchise tradition. This comes after weeks of rumors of internal friction concerning the production timetable, and the release of screenwriter Michael Arndt — apparently, a related issue.

There’s also official confirmation of open casting for two Episode VII roles.

Also, Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed that Disney is working on new Star Wars theme park attractions for Disneyland and Walt Disney World.

However you feel about the Disney era of the Galaxy Far, Far Away, the future is definitely in motion!
