The store pictured in the movie isn’t actually any of their four real life locations, but it’s still neat to see a local business get some free publicity. With the buzz building behind this adaptation of the Mark Millar/John Romita Jr. comic book, that attention could pay off quite handsomely. “Kick-Ass” is set to kick off the (increasingly misnamed) summer movie season when it hits theaters April 16.“Kick-Ass” tells the tale of a teenager who decides to become a vigilante super-hero despite having no powers or abilities beyond an overabundance of enthusiasm.
I’m really looking forward to this movie. I still remember telling former Nerdvana co-conspirator, Scott Kirchhofer, that this film would never happen. Or if it did happen it would be nothing like the outrageously violent and profane comic. I’ll be very happy to be proven wrong.
