Cox Communications has ranked in the top quarter of cable companies best able to stream Netflix video content for customers, according to Netflix’s own ranking.

The Valley’s cable-Internet provider is fourth — behind Time Warner (third), Comcast (second) and Charter (first) — on the list of 16 companies as of Jan. 15.

“We find ourselves in the unique position of having insight into the performance of hundreds of millions of long duration, high-definition video streams delivered over the Internet,” blogged Ken Florance, Netflix’s director of content delivery.
