Tim CurryThe Huffington Post reports that Tim Curry has been cast as Chancellor Palpatine in Star Wars: The Clone Wars, succeeding Ian Abercrombie, who died last year.

The scoop about the Rocky Horror Picture Show, Legend and Clue actor includes a clip of his debut in this Saturday’s season finale (more clips in my post here):

Curry is at least the fourth actor to play the future Galactic Emperor: Clive Revill portrayed a creepy holographic representation in the original cut of The Empire Strikes back; Ian McDiarmid made the role deliciously his own in Return of the Jedi and all three prequels; and Abercrombie took over for the CGI Clone Wars series as well as many video game titles.

By the way: Curry will also provide the voice of the Sith Master, Darth Sidious. Just in case you were wondering…
