Meet Highlander star and more at this weekend’s DarkCon

Adrian Paul, Duncan MacLeod from the Highlander TV series, will be doing a Q&A, meet-and-greet and signing autographs with photo-ops at DarkCon, Thursday through Sunday (Jan. 9-12) at the Phoenix Airport Marriott.

DarkCon is a convention with fantasy, science fiction, steampunk and cyberpunk theme featuring social events, two live band concerts, a merchant room, 24-hour gaming, an art exhibit, make-and-take workshops, charity poker and more. Authors, atists and game designers are attending as guests. There also will be a Doctor Who 50th anniversary celebration.

Michael A. Stackpole, who wrote the popular X-Wing series of Star Wars Expanded Universe novels, is the con’s author guest of honor, along with scribes Gini Koch of Phoenix and Susan Wright. Artists in attendance as guests include Mesa resident Chris Wood, AKA BIGCHRIS, as well as “future noir” illustrator Jacob Charles Dietz and bodypainter Mark Greenawalt, both also from Arizona.
