BAMF! Nightcrawler finally makes it to the Classic Comic Cover Corner! “Why now,” you ask? Many reasons, but most importantly because the X-Men’s Kurt Wagner is the coolest German hero that there is, and, in case you haven’t noticed, this is “Oktoberfest” season, America’s only official German holiday.
Amazing Spider-Man #161 is being showcased not only because of its incredibly cool characters, but also because the story’s action takes place at an amusement park, and as serendipity would have it, this very weekend the Arizona State Fair and its array of thrilling rides and attractions just opened for business.
In the story penned by the legendary Len Wein, titled, “…And the Nightcrawler Came Prowling, Prowling,” Spidey and Nightcrawler attempt to apprehend a sniper, but end up fighting each other instead (as comic heroes often do), and eventually even the Punisher ends up in the mix.
Maybe these heroes would all get along better if they would just knock back a few cold German brews together – then again, maybe not.
